FAQ

These are some questions we're often asked that you may find useful. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

  • What is your cancellation policy?
    As a small business, we depend on maximising occupancy and cancellations often result in an empty dome due to booking lead times. Please contact us immediately if you wish to vary or cancel your booking. Cancellations For cancellations with 30 days or more notice prior to arrival date, the full amount paid will be refunded less a $100 admin fee (plus any booking or merchant fees). Any money paid is non refundable in the event of a cancellation or variation within 30 days of your stay. If management is able to relet the Property for the period cancelled, then you will be entitled to a refund or credit minus a $100 charge (plus any booking or merchant fees). No refund can be given in the event of non-arrival, any unused services or unused nights due to flight / weather disruption. Bookings for the Christmas and New Year holiday period require 60 days’ notice of cancellation or all monies will be forfeited. All cancellations must be received via email from the email address linked to the reservation. Variations A variation of the booking which reduces the number of nights stay will be a treated as a cancellation of the booking in respect of those nights. We have a minimum nights' stay policy of 2 nights. No refund will be made for a variation to the extent that it breaches our minimum nights’ stay policy. Rates are subject to change without notice. Bookings may be transferred to another guest only with managements prior written approval and the payment of a $40 variation fee.
  • What amenities do you offer?

  • What is supplied for my stay?
    Your dome will be set up for your arrival with linen, pillows, blankets, robes and towels which must be left where supplied in the bedrooms or bath room on departure. Swimming towels are not included. You will find some bathroom products including hand and body wash, shampoo and conditioner. A starter pack is provided consisting of tea, coffee and sugar. Washing up liquid, scourer, dish-washing cloth and some dish-washing tablets are also provided. Please note these items are provided as a starter pack only for your convenience. If you run out you will need to replenish the items for the duration of your stay. The Property Domes are fully self-contained and daily servicing is not provided. For stays of seven days or more, a complimentary mid-stay linen change is available. We also provide: Torch Insect repellant Basic first aid kit Extra blankets Cooking utensils and pots and pans Corkscrew opener Salt and pepper Olive oil Drinking glasses Cheese board & cheese knife Cutlery Toilet paper Drinking bottled water
  • Is there phone reception and WiFi?
    There is phone reception for Telstra and Optus customers.
  • How many domes do you have?
    We currently have two domes.
  • Are you pet friendly?
    We sadly can’t accomodate any furry friends.
  • Can I bring my baby/child?
    We are an adult only campsite and unfortunately do not have facilities suitable for children. You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to make a booking and stay.
  • Vehicle access
    Please watch out for animals and wildlife and drive to the conditions. In order to get to the property, you will need to travel down approximately 20 kms of dirt/gravel road. The road is 4WD and AWD preferred. The road is 2WD accessible in dry weather however cautioned needs to be maintained while driving this road. Our roads are not suitable for low lying cars i.e. sports cars. If you are unsure about any road or track, please check with management. The speed limit on our property is 20km/h, please respect this to minimise dust disturbance, for your own safety and the safety of other guests and for the integrity of the road. Please stick to the dirt/gravel roads, please do not drive into the paddocks. This will only cause damage to your vehicle and to our paddocks.
  • Do you take group bookings?
    We don’t as yet, however follow us on Instragram to be the first to be notified.
  • Do we bring our own food and drinks?
    Yes, guests bring their own food and drinks. We do supply drinking water.
  • Does it get cold or hot in the dome?
    Our dome structure has the ability to create natural heating and cooling. We have however installed a reverse-cycle air conditioner if required. We also have a large ceiling fan, solar fans and insect screened doors and windows which allows a lovely breeze to flow through the dome.
  • What is there to do near by?

  • Where exactly is Faraway Domes?
    You will find Faraway Domes a 30 minute drive North of Warialda, NSW. Depending on your phone provider, mobile phone signal drops in and out about 15 minutes from Faraway Domes (so do some Sat Nav systems), but don’t panic! If you follow our directions, it’s hard to go wrong. Exact details of how to get there are emailed to you before your stay. Please view our Contact page for further details on the location.
  • How safe/secluded is Faraway Domes?
    We don’t have any predatorial animals and we’re situated on a 9,000 acre property at the end of a road, meaning that you’ll be well away from any prying onlookers. Every step has been taken to ensure you have it all to yourself! There are plenty of sheep, goats, cattle and some of the most spectacular wildlife in Australia. Still do exercise common sense, don’t feed the animals, don’t leave food unattended and wear footwear when stepping off the decking. If there are any problems our management team are on call and live approx 7km from the dome. All contact numbers will be provided.
  • How far apart are your domes?
    We have positioned our domes approximately 140 meters apart and out of site of each other for the ultimate privacy for both parties. Both domes have their own private driveway, outdoor bath, plunge pool, fire pit, BBQ and kitchen. We ask guests to please not wonder around the area that you have not booked, out of respect and privacy to each other. We ask guests to please keep noise down to a minimum out of respect to each guest.
  • What time is check in and check out?
    Checkin: 2pm Checkout: 10am
  • What cooking facilities are in the dome?
    The dome has it's own BBQ. Inside the dome is a 2 gas burner stovetop, steamer, toaster, fridge, multicooker (for searing, slow cooking and pressure cooking), jaffle iron, freezer and kettle.
  • Can I go on your cancellation list?
    Yes, of course! Please email us at farawaydomes@gmail.com to go on our cancellation list. All cancellation information is posted to Instagram and Facebook. Please follow us for the latest updates.
  • Can we watch TV and movies in the dome?
    A TV and hardrive with movies is provided in the dome.
  • Can I use a hair dryer and/or hair straighter?
    Our dome relies on generator for power which is carefully calculated to power the kitchen appliances, TV and phone chargers. We are unable to accommodate any external electronics. Any tampering with the electronics in the dome can result in disruption to your stay and/or damage to our equipment.
  • Fire & Firewood
    The statutory Bush Fire Danger Period runs from 1 October to 31 March, however it may vary due to local conditions. During this period we do not sell firewood as a fire permit is required.
